Japanese maples (Acer palmatum) are small, ornamental deciduous trees or shrubs. Japanese maples are ideal for Irish Gardens because of the mild temperature and moist soil conditions. They're widely admired for their spectacular foliage, which can turn vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, or purple in autumn.
